Golden Hands Treatments

Reflexology
Reflexology is a touch therapy, the earliest reference to which was found on a wall painting in an Egyptian Tomb depicting the physician to the King applying pressure massage to the feet and hands. Reflexology can be very effective at addressing conditions such as insomnia, back pain, hormonal/menstrual problems, infertility, digestive disorders, low energy, and sinusitis.

Sports Massage
Sports Massage facilitates conditioning, recovery, and dealing with problem conditions that are caused or aggravated by intense physical activity. For the professional athlete or someone with a regular exercise routine, sports massage helps achieve optimal readiness in preparation for your event, facilitates recovery after your event, and as part of a training regimen, helps maintain optimal physical condition.effective at reducing stress and tension in the body.

Symbolizing strength & flexibility, the Bamboo tools perfectly fit the contours of your body and provide a deep & revitalizing relaxation massage experience that harmonizes with your spirit.

Golden Hands Cupping Massage
A great new way to release chronic tension in the back and shoulders. This is an upper body massage treatment that is designed to loosen extremely tight muscles and breaking up stagnation in the tissue. Cups are applied to the back with suction creating a pressure that the skin and superficial muscle layer is drawn into and held in the cup. Some of these cups are left on the tight muscles for a short period while others are moved along the surface of the skin. Much pain is attributed to a binding of muscle fibers and fascia causing chronic holding patterns and restricted movement. While massage offers pain relief by applying pressure to the muscle & fascia, cupping lifts and separates the tissues freeing up fibers to once again move freely across each other.

Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy treatment enhances recovery from injuries, can more rapidly eliminate or reduce pain, and prevents recurrence of injury.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy, often referred to as physio, is a profession that uses physical methods, such as massage and manipulation, to promote healing and wellbeing. Physiotherapy treatments are often used to help restore a person’s range of movement following injury or illness.

Physiotherapists are health care professionals who have trained specifically in physiotherapy. They work in a number of different places including:
hospitals,
GP surgeries,
private practices,
spas workplaces, and
the community.

When physiotherapy is used
Physiotherapists frequently treat problems that affect the:
muscles,
joints, and
heart, blood circulation and lungs.

Physiotherapists also help people with mental health conditions, neurological conditions (those affecting the brain and nervous system) and chronic (long-term) health conditions.
Physiotherapy techniques

By using a number of different approaches and techniques, a physiotherapist can help a person to overcome injury or short-term health problems, or manage long-term disability.

The techniques and approaches that physiotherapists use are wide-ranging and include:
massage and manipulation - using the hands to relieve muscle pain and stiffness and encourage blood flow to an injured part of the body to help recovery, the use of heat, cold, electric current, light and water,
remedial exercise - exercise that takes into account a person’s current level of health and any specific requirements they may have, and
providing support - to help patients manage chronic conditions.

Physiotherapy techniques and approaches can improve a person’s ability to use parts of their body that are affected by a health condition or injury.
For example, arthritis is a chronic condition that causes painful, stiff joints and is often associated with ageing. Physiotherapists can help to keep the joints mobile and strengthen the surrounding muscles.

Who can physiotherapists help?
Physiotherapy can help people of all ages and social backgrounds. In particular, physiotherapy can help rehabilitate (restore to health) people who have:
had a stroke - when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off,
heart problems and breathing difficulties, a sports injury, and
recently had surgery that affects their movement and/or mobility.

Almost all people who have an injury or a physical disability can benefit from having physiotherapy, including children and the elderly.
